Using AutoCAD MEP 2010. In some drawings (not all) after I use the chspace command burst will no longer work. It initializes you select the objects then it just sits there till I hit esc. If AutoCAD is not working properly, or not even installing, you might want to try disabling User Account Control. To do that, follow these steps: Press Windows Key + S and enter user control. Select Change User Account Control settings. To change the setting for an existing block so that it can be exploded: Open the block in the Block Editor. In the Block Editor, make sure nothing is selected. In the Properties palette(Ctrl+1), under Block, select the Allow Exploding option. Now, after I initiated the command AutoCAD wants to know what I want to BURST. In this case I select the schedule and AutoCAD goes to work. You will see a little spinning indicator on the command line that lets you know it is working. Depending on the number of attributes, the amount of time it takes to complete this step may vary. When try to explode a block, the explode option if faded in the menubar or the following message appears on the command line 'Could not be exploded.' Causes: Beginning with AutoCAD® 2006, the Allow Exploding option was added to the Block Definition dialog box.
